How do I unprotect a Word document so it can be edited?

Some of our Word documents are locked as they are protected from unintentional editing.
Anytime you need access to changing or deleting something within the form, you will need to do the following:

1. Click on REVIEW from the top of the opened document.

2. Next, go all the way to the top right-hand corner and click RESTRICT EDITING.

3. Lastly, go all the way to your bottom right-hand corner and click STOP PROTECTION.

4. Once that disappears, it is completely modifiable.

Some forms are in Protective View, so if it's in PROTECTED VIEW, make sure you have clicked ENABLE EDITING.

Additionally, you may need a password for some of our Will forms since they are locked. Please use one of the following passwords: USLF or uslf (the password can be in all caps or all lower case depending on the document).
